UCWeb customised for Vodafone’s Indian customers

KOLKATA: Chinese mobile internet company UCWeb has customised its browser for Vodafone's Indian customers, its chairman and chief executive Yu Yongfu told ET, Vodafone customers, who use devices that run on Java, Symbian and Android systems, can now download the customised version of UCWeb's UC Browser for free. "UC Browser is a free application and the customised version for Vodafone will currently run on Android, Java and Symbian phones, though it'll soon be available on other mobile operating systems too," Yongfu said on the sidelines of the Global Mobile Internet Conference, which was held in Beijing recently.

 

As per the terms of the deal, Vodafone India will promote the customised version of UC Browser on its mobile portal.

 

Yongfu declined to share the financial details of the pact. Yongfu said the 'customised browser will help Vodafone maximise its user data consumption levels'.
